Overlooking the Cantabrian Sea, the Basque reality Bodega K5 takes center stage in wine production strongly linked to the territory of Getariako Txakolina. The winery is precisely located among the hills of the village of Aia, near the Pagoeta Natural Park, in a charming place called "Eztenagako Txorrua." The foundation of the bodega dates back to 2010, although the first vineyards were planted in 2005, and it is the result of five friends, passionate about wine and in love with their land. Among them, it was Karlos Arguiñago who led the group of friends, now supported by his daughter Amaia. He had a certain experience in the sector as he had always dedicated himself to a small vineyard, from which he produced wine for himself and his friends. The winemaking, now entrusted to the oenologist Lauren Rosillo, takes place in a modern cellar designed by the architecture studio Alonso Balaguer with the aim of minimizing the landscape impact.

Bodega K5 extends over a total area of 30 hectares, of which 15 are exclusively reserved for vineyards and the remaining half is dedicated to forests and trails rich in beech, chestnut, and oak trees, in a biodiverse environment. The sustainably cultivated rows are located at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level and rest on granite soils rich in slate schist. The entire vineyard area is reserved for the Hondarrabi Zuri grape variety, a native variety of the Basque Country that, benefiting from the Atlantic climate of the area, gives rise to fresh and citrusy wines. The guiding principle of Bodega K5's winemaking vision is to employ the most modern technologies in the industry while adopting a craft approach. In this perspective, fermentations are entrusted to indigenous yeasts and take place in stainless steel tanks, often preceded by pre-fermentation cold macerations, without the use of any additives. Even the prolonged aging on fine lees takes place in steel, excluding the use of wood, so as not to interfere with the expression of the terroir.

The wines based on Hondarrabi Zuri produced by Bodega K5 are characterized by their extraordinary freshness, born from the proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the strong mineral undertones due to the soil matrix of the Getariako Txakolina area.
