Negli ultimi anni <\/span><b>ha conquistato la gastronomia internazionale<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> grazie alla sua apparenza semplice, che nasconde per\u00f2 molti sapori complessi che si intrecciano magnificamente tra loro. Questo piatto di noodles gioca sull\u2019equilibrio tra i sapori dolce, acido, salato e umami. Il che rende difficile, ma molto stimolante, il lavoro del Sommelier. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In questo articolo, oltre alle radici di questo piatto, scoprirai anche cosa bere insieme al tuo Pad Thai.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Cosa \u00e8 il Pad Thai?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Il pad thai porta con s\u00e9 molti dei sapori identitari della cucina thailandese: il riso con i noodles, il tofu, gli arachidi e poi l\u2019agrodolce con tamarindo e zucchero di palma, infine l\u2019onnipresente salsa di pesce. Si tratta di un piatto dall\u2019origine piuttosto recente. Le radici di questa preparazione affondano in un momento politico preciso: gli anni Quaranta del Novecento, durante il regime militare del maresciallo Phibun, periodo segnato da una forte spinta nazionalista.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In quegli anni il governo thai decise di promuovere il consumo di noodles tra la popolazione, una scelta legata a ragioni economiche. Secondo alcune fonti venne organizzato un vero e proprio <\/span><b>concorso <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">per inventare nuove ricette a base di spaghetti di riso. Alla fine del periodo, il Pad Thai venne standardizzato e divenne un piatto simbolo.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Storia del nome e sua etimologia <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Il nome \u00e8 anch&#8217;esso una dichiarazione politica: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pat thai<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> significa letteralmente <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;noodles thai&#8221;<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, scelto appositamente <strong>per distinguere il piatto dalle preparazioni cinesi <\/strong>con cui condivide molti ingredienti come germogli di soia, tofu, ravanello salato ed erba cipollina. Un concentrato di sapori, insomma, con un&#8217;identit\u00e0 molto chiara.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Pad thai, pad see ew e khao pad: le
