It is a great Barbaresco, characterized by an elegant face and refined and complex aromas, expressing the best characteristics of this historic Langhe appellation. The long ageing in wood delivers a wine of extraordinary expressive maturity, harmonious and balanced, capable of winning over the most demanding palates from the first sip, thanks to floral and fruity aromas and delicate nuances of spices.
Barbaresco wine "Gaiun Martinenga" is a red of absolute excellence, produced by one of the most famous wineries in the Barbaresco area. In this area, Nebbiolo expresses itself with particular finesse, thanks to marls richer in sand and limestone, which give the wines a more subtle and delicate profile. The choice of a historically vocated vine and great agronomic attention allows for high-quality grapes. The result is a wine destined for long ageing, which comes out on the market only after 4 years of ageing between wood and bottle. This is a Barbaresco label dedicated to the great enthusiasts and connoisseurs to be tasted on a special evening.
The "Gaiun Martinenga" Barbaresco from the Piedmontese winery Marchesi di Gresy comes from a selection of the best grapes from the vineyard of the same name, among the estate's most prized plots. At the end of the classic red vinification with maceration on the skins, lasting about ten days, the wine matures for a period of about 18 months in French oak barriques to complete the ageing process with 24 months in the bottle. In the glass, it is garnet red in colour with slight orange highlights. The bouquet is reminiscent of light floral scents, aromas of small red berries, hints of liquorice root, bitter cocoa, vanilla and delicate spices. The sip is elegant and harmonious, with great gustatory pleasantness accompanying a long and refreshing finish. An extraordinary label, absolutely to be discovered.
