Rare wines
Perfect to give as a giftThe Brunello di Montalcino by Casanova di Neri is a wine of great excellence and complexity, a benchmark of the type. After aging in large barrels for 45 months, it expresses a rich bouquet of red fruit, flint, tobacco, and underbrush, and offers a harmonious, robust, and consistent sip.
The Brunello di Montalcino by Casanova di Neri is produced in Montalcino, a place with a long history that lays the foundations for times of the Holy Roman Empire. The winery was founded in 1971 by Giovanni Neri who, from being a grain trader, followed his passion for the world of wine, dedicating himself to the production of products of exceptional quality: he takes over old local vineyards to enhance them again and begins to plant new ones, so that his work is projected into the future. In 1978, the first Brunello from the winery was put on the market and in 1982 the first Rosso di Montalcino. Since 1991, the activity has been in the hands of Giovanni's son, Giacomo, who has carried on his father's work, passing on to his children the passion and tradition, so that the work of the Neri family can survive the passage of time.
The vineyards of the Brunello di Montalcino by Casanova di Neri grow on land composed of a singular mix of rocks, made special by the geological changes that the Italian territory has undergone during the phenomenon of emerged lands. River basins due to the presence of the Ombrone coexist with clay and schist sediments and present themselves as the ideal soil for Sangiovese to express its intrinsic potential. The harvest takes place manually in the first week of October and in the vineyard, there is a manual selection of the bunches that arrive in the winery. Here they are destemmed and spontaneous alcoholic fermentation begins thanks to the action of indigenous yeasts in steel. It ages for 42 months in oak barrels and subsequently 6 months in bottle.
The color of the Brunello di Montalcino by Casanova di Neri is a bright ruby red with intense reflections; the aromas recall citrus and red berry fruits such as cherry, raspberry, and sour cherry. On the palate, it presents soft and silky tannins, accompanied by an intrinsic elegance and good freshness that invite you to drink glass after glass. It is recommended to pair with dishes based on cuts of red meat typical of Tuscan tradition cooked on the grill or stewed, local game, and first courses dressed with hearty sauces; also recommended with aged cow's milk cheeses for curious end-of-meal.cow's milk for curious end-of-meal. A product to reserve for the family festive table to taste a wine that is the result of a work of experience and that reflects the great winemaking history of the land of Montalcino and its most authentic flavors.
