CHAMPAGNE NATURE BLANC DE BLANCS GRAND CRU 'VENUS' AGRAPART 2015 DESCRIPTION

The Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru "Venus" is a Nature Champagne in which the philosophy that guides the operations of Maison Agrapart, the absolute respect for the terroir, finds its fullest expression. We are dealing with a label that, in fact, at the end of maturation, does not see the addition of any dosage liqueur, ensuring a truthful and authentic sip, where minerality and freshness take the lead. Of excellent depth, thanks to aging on the lees for five years, it presents a decidedly evolved profile.

The "Venus" is a Nature Blanc de Blancs Champagne that is made using the purest form of a great white grape variety, Chardonnay, cultivated in various parcels of the Côte des Blancs that fall under the Grand Cru of Avize. Grapes are carefully selected during manual harvesting and immediately transported to the winemaking facilities of Maison Agrapart. In the cellar, the attention to detail is almost maniacal, and the must obtained from pressing the grapes undergoes the initial fermentation in stainless steel before refermenting directly in the bottle, following the production process of the Champagne method. The Champagne matures on the lees for 60 months, and then, at the time of disgorgement, no expedition liqueur is added.

The "Venus" Champagne presents itself in the glass with a straw-yellow color, crossed by a rich effervescence with a pleasant persistence. Fruit, especially yellow-fleshed fruit, alternates with more floral notes, while on the finish, there is a slight balsamic hint that blends well with touches reminiscent of the lees. In the mouth, it is elegant, with a good body, characterized by a range of savory and fresh flavors, very well-rounded.
