The Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba "Sorì Costa Fiore" by Claudio Alario is born in Diano d'Alba, in the heart of the Piedmontese Langhe, a UNESCO heritage site and home to reds of exceptional quality. The winery is family-run and was founded in the early 20th century. For three generations, the passion and art of winemaking have been passed down, ensuring that the refinement of the products survives over time. In 1988, Claudio took advantage of the knowledge gained at the Higher Institute of Agriculture and decided to experiment with new winemaking and bottling techniques. The daily goal is to continuously improve and perfect the quality while respecting nature and the ecosystem surrounding the vineyards.
The pure Dolcetto grapes of the Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba "Sorì Costa Fiore" by Claudio Alario grow in the territory of Diano d'Alba; the vines are aged between 20 and 50 years and all have a southern exposure, an ideal condition to ensure excellent ripening of the bunches. The climate is characterized by hot and humid summers and cold winters, often affected by snowy phenomena and frosts at the beginning of spring. The soils are mostly composed of clay and limestone for structured wines with a strong character. The harvest is manual and begins around mid-September. In the winery, the alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel, where it also ages for a year; no filtration is applied at the time of bottling.
The Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba "Sorì Costa Fiore" by Claudio Alario presents itself in the glass as an intense ruby red with violet reflections. The bouquet of aromas is broad, full, and intense, reminiscent of ripe red-fleshed fruit and notes of exotic fruit like mango and papaya; on the palate, it reveals itself as soft, elegant, and satisfying with tannins appropriately integrated into the overall structure. It pairs perfectly with dishes from the Piedmontese culinary tradition such as meat-filled ravioli, cuts of grilled red meat, and local game. Ideal for consumption during romantic evenings in front of a lit fireplace during snowy evenings, to savor the passion and history of Piedmontese viticulture, tasting its authentic flavors.
