FRANCIACORTA BRUT SATEN 'MAGNIFICENTIA' UBERTI 2019 DESCRIPTION

Uberti's Franciacorta Brut Saten "Magnificentia" is a wine born in a historic winery in the heart of Italy's most renowned area in the world for producing excellent bubbles. Agostino Uberti purchased a small farmhouse and some adjoining land in 1793, laying the foundations of what would become one of the most famous and historic wineries in Franciacorta. From generation to generation, the art of winemaking was passed down until the 1970s when great-great-grandson G. Agostino Uberti together with his wife Eleonora, concretized the development of the current business, bringing out the first Franciacorta wines in 1978. With the arrival of daughters Silvia and Francesca Uberti in the early 2000s, the land holdings were enlarged, and great emphasis was placed on sensitivity and environmental sustainability, giving, thus, full expression to the grapes.

The vineyards of Uberti's Franciacorta Brut Saten "Magnificentia" are located in Località Salem in the municipality of Erbusco. The soils are of morainic origin, with a wealth of skeleton and minerals and good ventilation, and little humidity; the vines have an average age of 25 years. The climate is characterized by cold, often snowy winters with sudden frosts even at the dawn of spring and hot summers, but with never excessive temperatures. Grapes are harvested manually around the last week of August. Arriving at the winery, the clusters are lightly crushed; alcoholic fermentation is then triggered, partly in oak vats and partly in French barriques. It rests 40 months on the lees after the addition of draught liqueur in spring with a pressure of 4.5 atm, a typical measure for Satén. Ages 6 months in bottle.

The colour of Uberti's Franciacorta Brut Saten "Magnificentia" is a straw yellow with intense, bright highlights. The nose releases hints of white summer flowers and ripe yellow-fleshed fruit in union with buttery notes and freshly baked bread crust; the mouth reveals a fine and persistent perlage with an intrinsic elegance and a pleasant envelopment to entice glass after glass. In pairing, it is recommended with raw fish such as sushi and sashimi, light appetizers, and smoked salmon; also perfect with first courses with refined condiments. Perfect for toasting on anniversaries or special family events, savouring a product that is the result of centuries of work and exceptional experience.
