KIT AMARONE E RISERVE DI ALLEGRINI DESCRIPTION

The Amarone e Riserve Kit from the Allegrini wine cellar in Veneto is a fine and elegant box that showcases all the great winemaking ability of Valpolicella. For centuries, the Allegrini family has been linked to this fantastic Veronese territory, of which it has strongly contributed to the oenological affirmation. A key figure for the estate was Giovanni Allegrini, recognised as one of the major architects of the rebirth of Valpolicella during the second half of the last century, years in which he introduced important innovations in both viticulture and oenology. Today the baton has been passed on to his children Marilisa and Franco and to Silvia, Walter Allegrini's granddaughter.

Allegrini Kit Amarone e Riserve includes two different interpretations of the Valpolicella terroir: a bottle of Amarone della Valpolicella Classico and a bottle of Palazzo della Torre. The first wine is made from the customary blend of Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta, indigenous black grapes that, after harvesting, are left to dry in drying lofts for several months, during which time they dehydrate, losing up to 45% of their own weight and thus concentrating sugars and aromas. The subsequent alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks while the ageing phase takes place in new barriques for 18 months, followed by at least a further 14 months of bottle ageing. The result is a structured, full-bodied and complex Amarone of extraordinary longevity, characterised by vivid hints of ripe fruit and sweet spices. In contrast, the Palazzo della Torre, named after the vineyard surrounding Villa della Torre Allegrini, consists of a blend of Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Rondinella and Sangiovese. These vines are vinified using the double fermentation method, which involves an initial classic red fermentation for most of the grapes and the subsequent addition of the crushed grapes from the remaining bunches left to dry.

By virtue of their generosity and concentration, the labels contained in the Allegrini Amarone and Riserve Kit pair beautifully with rich red meat or game dishes.
