'L'ERTA' BIANCO PAOLO MARCHIONNI 2021 DESCRIPTION

Paolo Marchionni's L'Erta "Bianco" is an artisanal wine made by one of Tuscany's most talented winemakers, who has made a name for himself with a range of labels with a forthright and genuine profile. A true interpreter of the best traditions of the territory of Vigliano in Chianti, he has been able to restore dignity and give value to Trebbiano, vinifying in purity the grapes of an old vineyard of particular value, cultivated on vocated soils, characterized by an abundant presence of galestro and alberese. It is a white that combines expressive intensity and saline freshness, giving a straight and immediate pleasant sip. It is perfect to bring to the table with seafood first courses or with baked fish.

L'Erta "Bianco" wine comes from the beautiful area of the Florentine Hills, where Paolo Marchionni manages a 7-hectare estate with the utmost respect for nature, without the use of herbicides, fertilizers or chemicals. The Trebbiano grapes come from a historic vineyard on the estate, specially chosen for its low production per plant and the excellent quality of the grapes, which reach full ripeness with particularly rich and intense aromas. At the end of harvesting operations, the best bunches selected in the vineyard undergo a gentle pressing. The must is vinified white in cement containers. Before being bottled, the wine matures in cement tanks on the lees for about a year in order to acquire more structure and considerable complexity and aromatic depth.

The "Bianco" L'Erta, made by Paolo Marchionni, is a bottle dedicated to those who want to rediscover a great wine of the Tuscan tradition, re-proposed in an artisanal guise, capable of reconciling us with a grape variety too often trivialized with simple versions or relegated to the role of comprimario within territorial blends with other white grape varieties. In the glass it has a beautiful intense yellow color with bright golden reflections. The nose offers fragrant scents of acacia flowers, jasmine and wildflowers, citrusy hints of candied lemon peel, ripe aromas of yellow-fleshed fruit, medlar, peach, pineapple, hints of Mediterranean maquis herbs and nuances of licorice root. The sip is characterized by a lively expressive tension, savory and juicy, flowing into a finish of intense citrine freshness.
