Nebbiolo Produttori del Barbaresco 2022

The Langhe Nebbiolo from the important cooperative winery Produttori del Barbaresco is a bottle that stands out for its fresh and dynamic taste, characteristics underlying its remarkable versatility and pleasantness. Officially founded in 1958, this Langhe-based winery now has more than 50 members and more than 110 hectares of vineyards entirely dedicated to Nebbiolo, a grape variety that has been able to economically and socially uplift an entire territory. About 25 percent of the winery's total production is devoted to Langhe Nebbiolo, a label first made with the 1975 vintage that offers a more accessible and immediate expression of this noble black grape variety.

Produttori del Barbaresco Langhe Nebbiolo is made with only grapes of the variety of the same name from the youngest vines grown in the various vineyards of the contributing members. The soils are mainly clay-limestone matrix while the exposures vary from south to east and west. Following the harvest, the clusters are vinified in red in concrete tanks, with temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation, 20 days of maceration on the skins and complete malolactic fermentation. Instead, the ensuing 6-month maturation phase takes place in large Slavonian oak barrels.

On visual inspection, Langhe Nebbiolo Produttori del Barbaresco expresses a transparent ruby red colour with garnet highlights. Inviting on the nose in its intense aromas of ripe red fruits, white pepper and aniseed, supported by floral and herbal hints. The sip, balanced and flavorful, reveals sleek freshness and ripe tannins with a long and pleasant fruity finish. This is a wine suitable for everyday drinking yet capable of impressing when served at formal or informal dinners.
