POUILLY FUISSÉ 'LES COURTELONGS' SAUMAIZE 2022 DESCRIPTION

Pouilly Fuissé "Les Courtelongs" Saumaize is a French white wine in which body and refinement unite in a profile of high aromaticity, from which emerges the richness of aroma of Chardonnay grown in southern Burgundy. A fresh sip feeds a cautious and reflective drink, which shows a particular intensity and flavour tension. A label that still has several years of evolution ahead of it, thus presenting itself as an excellent investment for the future. Try it with a seafood risotto or with a grilled fish main course.

Saumaize's Pouilly Fuissé "Les Courtelongs" originates from pure Chardonnay grapes grown in plots characterized by a subsoil rich in gravel, silt and clay. The vineyard is treated with the utmost respect, without using synthetic chemicals and minimizing the passage of tractors and mechanical means, oxygenating the land with light ploughing. The must vinifies in barriques, 20% new, and each stage of the winemaking process is followed with the greatest attention to detail. The final part of ageing continues in barriques for 10 months until the winery deems it ready for bottling.

"Les Courtelongs", Pouilly Fuissé signed Saumaize announces itself to the eye with a beautiful colour reminiscent of gold tones. Rich and multifaceted, the nose moves between hints of fresh citrus and sweetish hints of honey, in which a note of nuts is also appreciated. On the palate, it is full-bodied, concentrated and assertive, thanks to a fragrant sip that flows with punctuality. It closes with a finish endowed with excellent persistence. An artisanal label from the south of Burgundy, which becomes the bearer and guardian of the beauty of this territory.
