In that wonderful corner of Tuscany that is Chianti, lies the Tenuta Sette Ponti. The winery, now owned by Antonio Moretti, covers an area of about 330 hectares, of which fifty are under vine. The history of this estate goes through high-sounding names. In the 50s the architect Alberto Moretti, in love with this area not only for the richness and beauty of the land, but also for the presence of a fabulous Game Reserve, full of deer, wild boar, pheasants, hares and deer in the mantle yellow, buy the whole estate from Princess Margaret and Maria Cristina of Savoy. This estate had belonged to Leopold d 'Habsburg, Grand Duke of Tuscany, who had implanted the historic "vineyard of Cue Ball". In 1935 the royal family had planted "the vineyards of 'empire' to celebrate the conquest of Ethiopia. In the vineyards, located on the gentle slopes of the Chianti hills, favorably exposed at an average altitude of 300 meters above sea level, with land in heterogeneous structure, but well combined, clay, sand, limestone, marl typical of Chianti, cultivated the typical grape varieties of the region: the Sangiovese, first of all, that here finds its highest expression, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. The winery is the most technologically advanced we can find on the market, the staff of the cellar is highly specialized and is also supported by external experts. Just arrived on the grapes in the cellar by a manual selection, grape by grape, to make wine only the best grapes produced; you prefer the fermentation vats discovered and the final refinement takes place in fine French oak barrels. The wine "prince" of this farm is the Oreno, named after the creek that runs through the estate, a skillful blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot,, a strong wine and rich in texture, mainly aged in oak barrels, which in few years has been able to become the elite of the great wines of Tuscany and Italy.
