The Rhum Rhum brand is the result of the encounter between the expert Italian art of distilling and the Caribbean essence of the beautiful archipelago of Guadeloupe, an encounter that has led to the birth of artisanal rums with a deep and fascinating character. The origins of the project date back to 2005, when Luca Gargano, owner of Velier, brought Gianni Capovilla, owner of the famous Capovilla distillery in Bassano del Grappa, to Marie-Galante, an island in Guadeloupe. Showing him the island's charm, Luca convinced Gianni to start a collaboration with the goal of making a great agricultural rum that would evoke the old 19th-century style, that of the best rums. Crucial then was Gargano's meeting with Dominique Thierry, owner of the Bielle distillery, anchored in the traditional art associated with rum production.

Rhum Rhum brand spirits are produced from pure sugarcane juice grown sustainably in the tropical climate of Marie-Galante Island. The plants belong to the rare Canne Rouge and B47,259 varieties and are harvested only when they have reached full maturity. The slow alcoholic fermentation of the sugarcane juice lasts a full 5-6 days and takes place at a controlled temperature in open vats, with no dilution of the juice. The slow course of fermentation is a key step in determining the quality of Rhum Rhum distillates as it allows aromas of exceptional richness and complexity to develop. This is followed by a double distillation of the fermented in copper bain-marie stills designed by master distiller Gianni Capovilla and manufactured by the German company Müller, an excellence in the industry. Once the distillation process is complete, the rums can be bottled after adequate rest in stainless steel containers as Rhum Blanc or undergo prolonged aging in wooden barrels, again in the tropical climate of Guadeloupe. Along the entire process, the use of any additives is then excluded.

The Rhum Rhum brand's agricultural rums are immediately striking for their extraordinary concentration and sensory richness, characteristics that reflect the most traditional and prized style of this celebrated Caribbean distillate.
