SAUTERNES PREMIER GRAND CRU CLASSÉ CHATEAU RIEUSSEC 2017 - 75CL DESCRIPTION

An elegant and refined Sauternes Premier Grand Cru Classé, whose aromas on the nose masterfully transport us inside one of the most fascinating territories in the entire Bordeaux region, the one in which precisely the sweet wine par excellence, Sauternes, is produced. Château Rieussec, a winery that is part of the oenological empire represented by the Domaines Barons de Rothschild, is one of the most important names within this AOC, always carefully giving life to labels where quality comes first. Just as with this Premier Grand Cru Classé, an expression of elegance, power and balance that, sip after sip, will not struggle to win you over.

Premier Grand Cru Classé Sauternes comes from the successful union of three white grape varieties, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle. The vines of these three varieties are grown within those vineyards owned by Château Rieussec, located about 50 kilometres from Bordeaux, west of the Garonne River. The grapes are affected by noble rot, or "botrytis cinerea," and then lightly pressed and fermented in wood. This is followed by ageing, which lasts for at least 18 months and is carried out in 50% new French oak barrels. After maturation, bottling and marketing are carried out.

This Sauternes Premier Grand Cru Classé reveals itself to the eye with a beautiful golden yellow color. The range of aromas that develops on the nose tells of floral notes, enriched by more spicy and yellow-fleshed fruit touches. On the palate, it is full-bodied, ample, and velvety, with a tactile and mellow mouthfeel characterized by a finish endowed with incredible persistence. A label with which Château Rieussec confirms its capabilities in the production of Sauternes, which, as confirmed by the incredible scores obtained each year, place it among the leading production realities for this type of wine.
