Sorì San Lorenzo is a Barbaresco that comes from the pure use of a great red grape variety from Piedmont, Nebbiolo. The grapes, carefully selected by the Gaja team during manual harvesting, undergo a double ageing process after vinification, which is essential to fully develop the characteristics of this wine. In fact, it proceeds with an initial period of 12 months spent in barriques and then with another year spent in large barrels. At the end of these 24 months of total maturation, the wine is ready to be bottled and marketed.
Gaja's Barbaresco Sorì San Lorenzo red wine presents itself to the eye with a brilliant hue reminiscent of garnet. The nose is almost indescribable in words, with a whirlwind of sensations from the underbrush to ripe fruit and spices, also crossed by light nuances of herbs. On the palate, it is full-bodied, warm and swaddling, with a sip in perfect balance, marked by a pleasant freshness; it ends with a finish of incredible persistence. A label that brings us into the elite of great Italian reds, confirming the Gaja winery as one of the legends of the entire Italian oenology.
