Edradour distillery is known for being one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland, with a production of only 18 barrels per week (about 100,000 liters per year) and historically run by just three men who deal with every stage of production with full manual methods, without the use of any type of computer or advanced technology. Edradour, located near Pitlochry in Perthshire, Highlands, also lies close to the ruins of the Abbey of Lindores, a place where was recorded the most ancient order of aquavite , the name of whisky in 1494.

Illegally founded in 1825 by eight local farmers under the name Glenforres, in 1837 it legalized and changed its name to Edradour, from the Gaelic Eadar Dhà Dhobhar, which means "between two rivers." In the years of the American Prohibition, Edradour was an ingredient of the blend “House of Lords”, one of the most popular contraband whisky.

Today the distillery, always with its two small copper stills, produces a wide range of bottlings, surely among the most diversified in the world of Single Malts. This thanks to a special hobby of Andrew Symington, owner of the distillery, true fan of whisky aging in European barrels. The distillery in fact possesses a wide range of valuable barrels, from Burgundy to those of Sauternes, including those of Porto and Pedro Ximenez. Edradour is really a traditional Highland Single Malt Whisky, a must for those who believe in the philosophy "small is better".
