Tabarrini is a leading name on the Umbrian wine scene, an international benchmark for Montefalco wines. The Tabarrini family has been cultivating vineyards in the area for four generations with love and passion, developing a deep knowledge of the land and ancient traditions. The architect of the modern success is Giampaolo Tabarrini, who, putting the long family tradition to good use, began bottling in 1998, quickly establishing himself as one of the most charismatic and brilliant producers in the region.

The winery is located in the heart of the family estate, consisting of 22 hectares of land, 11 of which are planted with vines. The vineyards, divided into 9 different plots, offer landscape views of rare beauty, very representative of the Umbrian hill country. The most cultivated variety is Sagrantino, to whose cultivation are reserved the 3 estate cru: Colle Grimaldesco, Macchie and Cerqua, which takes its name from the large centuries-old oak that dominates the plot. A real jewel of inestimable value is represented by the centuries-old free-standing vines of Trebbiano Spoletino, marinated with field maple and rooted on a clay soil.

Giampaolo Tabarrini produces wines that are born of a strong attachment to the land and a deep love for the vineyards, each of which holds a story. The Biricocolo vineyard, for example, cultivated with Sagrantino and Sangiovese, is located near grandfather Armando's house and is named after a very large apricot tree that gives very sweet fruit every year. The enhancement of the peculiarities of each plot has led Giampaolo to vinify and bottle the individual crus separately and become known for Sagrantino wines of great elegance and expressiveness. His passion for the territory and its history has also led to the rediscovery of Trebbiano Spoletino and its great appreciation. Passion, depth, compactness and stylistic elegance are the key words of Tabarrini wines, known all over the world as great excellences of the Umbrian land.
