Trebbiano Spoletino Perticaia 2022

Trebbiano Spoletino Perticaia is an expression of the excellent work that the Petricaia winery has been doing since Guido Guardigli founded it just over a decade ago. In a short time, the name Petricaia has become synonymous with quality and expertise in the world of wine, which is expressed not only in the reds but appears even more pronounced in the skilful winemaking of the rare Trebbiano Spoletino, of which Perticaia is a distinguished producer.

This grape variety finds, thanks to Guido Guardigli's passion for its terroir, one of its most authentic and intriguing expressions.

Trebbiano Spoletino comes from vines that stand on slightly sloping land located at 325- 350 meters above sea level, facing south and southwest. The wine is made by gently pressing the grapes with inert gas, and cold static clarification precedes the spontaneous fermentation in steel containers. The wine always ages in steel 6 months sur lies without being racked.

Trebbiano Spoletino shows a straw yellow colour to the eye. The nose has elegant fruity and vegetal scents with notes of apple, lychee, grapefruit, sage and hawthorn. It is a white wine with a wide flavour spectrum, fresh and savoury, so much so that the producer does not hesitate to call it "a little bit trebbiano and a little bit riesling." Trebbiano Spoletino Perticaia is complemented by a pleasant softness and a mineral, persistent finish. It lends itself excellently to ageing.
