Knockando Distillery distinguishes itself by repeating the year or the single season of production of every bottle, a feature that differentiates this delicate Speyside Single Malt from many others in the region. The distillery is located in the heart of the Speyside region, on the bank of the River Spey, between the towns of Archiestown and Knockando. Founded in 1898 by John Thompson, in full "whisky boom" of the Victorian era, it takes its name from the Gaelic Cnoc-an-dhu, which means "little black hill". Knockando was the first Scottish distillery to be provided with electricity.

The Knockando distillery has four stills and using pure water from the nearby Cardnach spring, located in the hills above the distillery. This water, together with the production process respectful of the times, creates a delicate whisky, marked by fresh notes of almond in its younger versions, which become gradually more intense in the aged versions.

Only 8% of Knockando production is used for its Single Malt, the rest is used for very famous Blended whiskies, such as J & B, which is one of the main malts. A classic whisky for all Speyside style lovers.
