The Cantina del Castello winery is run by people who are passionate about the land, the vineyard and wine. The historic Cantina, located within the city walls of the town of Castello di Soave, is the heart of the company's activity, and operates while respecting the typicality and tradition of the wines it produces. A guardian of the past and a treasure trove of ancient history, Cantina del Castello reflects the agricultural, viticultural and social environment in which it was born and is committed to respecting the environment and nature. Arturo Stocchetti took over the winery with the clear objective of bringing fame and prestige to the Soave area. Since the 1980s he has been leading this winery proudly towards the enhancement of the territory through the art of winemaking, as he himself likes to define it. Passion, history, technology and great tradition, together with patient dedication and attention to detail, help to create a winning system for the winery at Corte Pittora, near Soave, in the province of Verona. The 13th century Scaliger palace is the centre of the winery's quality and is overseen throughout all stages of production by Arturo, his daughter Giulia and grandson Nicola, who all share the same dedication.

The Cantina del Castello's Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave grapes grow on hillsides of volcanic origin, which are rich in nutrients and particularly dark. During the spring, they contrast with the golden hues that the berries take on during the ripening period. After harvesting, the grapes are fermented with selected yeasts and aged in stainless steel tanks for a period of several months. This results in wines with strong varietal scents, particularly distinguishable for their finesse and cleanliness, with a velvety and almost light body that is reflected in the name historically used for the famous Veronese white wine. The perfect balance between sapidity and softness says a lot about the capabilities of this Veneto winery, which has very little to learn when it comes to professionalism.

The white and red wines of the Cantina del Castello successfully convey the history of an area where legend is intertwined with history. There is a famous anecdote that the underground tunnels once served as a passageway to the castle itself, hence the name. To this day, the ageing of Soave Classico takes place in this underground area with its unmistakable barrel vaults that are made of terracotta bricks fired with lime mortar, and kept damp and cool. The winding hills that surround these noble Venetian grapes provide them with a unique climate and landscape, to which they have adapted perfectly, expressing themselves with a unique elegance. As a result, in recent years the market has been evolving in favour of their lightness and in favour of Soave itself.
