The Due Palme winery was founded fairly recently, in 1989, in Cellino San Marco, a small town in the province of Brindisi in Apulia. This producer came to life thanks to the vision of Angelo Maci, enologist and current owner of the winery, who belongs to a family that has been involved in winemaking for three generations. Angelo decided to involve about 15 partners in the project, establishing a real cooperative. It was a winning intuition, to say the least, and year after year new members were added, increasing the size of the winery to its current size of 1,200 members. Since the 1990s, the cooperative has invested a great deal in increasing the technology used in winemaking and in developing the area. In almost 30 years, five wineries have been incorporated into the Due Palme cooperative, making it a true ambassador of Apulian wine in the world, combining quantity and quality in each of the 25 different wines it produces.

The vineyards that give life to Due Palme wines extend over 2,500 hectares of vines, all in the provinces of Taranto, Brindisi and Lecce. It is a vast expanse of land, within which the main native red and white grape varieties are grown, together with some international grapes. In the vineyard, the emphasis is on sustainability, and it is precisely for this purpose that the winery is taking part in a project in collaboration with the University of Bari to make production as eco-friendly as possible. During vinification, the centre of activity takes place in the Cellino San Marco winery: 45 thousand square metres that can process an average of 1100 tonnes of grapes per day, where the new bottling plant guarantees a production of 11,000 bottles per hour.

These large numbers give an idea of the size of the Due Palme winery, which creates 25 different wines every harvest, divided into white, red, rosé, sweet and sparkling wines that are perfectly suited to satisfy the needs of the most diverse palates. These are wines that manage to combine large production volumes with excellent quality, as evidenced by the various awards received over the years, both nationally and internationally. The great value for money is also a key element in their success, resulting in wines that are both appealing and successful.
