Andi Weigand is a young artisanal winemaker who is an interpreter of the land in Iphofen, in the Franconian countryside of Germany. In 2015 Andi inherited the family estate, of which he represents the third generation of winemakers, converting it 3 years later entirely to organic farming.

Weigand Andi tends nearly 10 hectares of rows of vines following the principles of certified organic farming, supplemented by biodynamic practices, with a desire to give back as much as possible to nature. Most of the vineyards are very old, over 60 years old, and consist mostly of the white Sylvaner grape variety, alongside which are Muller-Thurgau, Pinot Noir, Scheurebe, Bacchus, Riesling and Pinot Blanc. These varieties are rooted on characteristic soils called "Keuper", formed mostly of chalk, an ancient stone that contributes to the origin of spicy, fresh and slightly herbaceous wines, at the same time rich in marl and limestone. Harvests are done by hand slightly in advance in order to preserve the natural acidity of the berries and thus the freshness of the finished wine. Family and friends participate in the harvest each year, in an atmosphere of celebration and conviviality. All fermentations occur spontaneously in wooden barrels thanks to the action of yeasts naturally present on the berries and in the cellar environment while the subsequent aging of the wines takes place in Franconian oak barrels or in Georgian earthenware amphorae called "kvevri". No wine-making aids or additives, including sulfur dioxide, are added throughout the process, and the masses are not subjected to clarification or filtration.

The bottles from the German winery Weigand Andi stand out for their bright freshness and funky character, shaping themselves as authentic expressions of the terroir and the style of their maker. White wines represent the focus of the estate, and the entire range is packaged with black and white labels with a simple style, just as simple and genuine as Andi's production philosophy.
