Tenuta dell'Ornellaia is one of the most renowned and well-known wineries in Italy, the symbol of a wine-growing area, that of Bolgheri, which in the course of a few decades has established itself at the top of world quality for the production of great red wines. This is where "Le Volte" was born, a blend where the softness of the Merlot combines with the intensity of the Cabernet Sauvignon and the strength of the Sangiovese, creating a label that reflects the winery's philosophy, always attentive to giving balance and concentration to the grapes grown. An elegant and precise product, well delineated in each of its organoleptic components, as much in its varietal and primary scents as in its secondary and tertiary ones.
Tenuta dell'Ornellaia's "Le Volte" is a red wine made from carefully selected nbsp;international and indigenous grape varieties. Merlot, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon are meticulously selected at harvest time and vinified separately in small stainless steel tanks, carrying out both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. This is followed by ageing, which takes place in both used barriques and cement vats, and lasts for 10 months.
"Le Volte" is a label produced by Tenuta dell'Ornellaia that is striking right from the colour in the glass, characterised by a beautiful ruby red, particularly intense. The olfactory spectrum is structured around notes of undergrowth fruit, interspersed with floral scents and sweet spices, derived from ageing in wood. The palate is full-bodied, characterised by a great softness and roundness that make for an incredibly soft and smooth drinking experience. A red wine to drink immediately or to keep in the cellar for a few more years, in order to taste it in a more evolved and mature version: in both cases it will not disappoint.
