The Verdicchio "Lauro" is an elegant, dynamic, intensely floral white wine. Pleasant and lively notes of fruit, anise and hazelnut stand out from a soft and fresh aromatic texture, with good flavor and balance
Poderi Mattioli's Verdicchio Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore Riserva "Lauro" was born in the province of Ancona, specifically in Serra de' Conti. The winery was founded in the 1960s by Argilio Mattioli, a son of art since his father Armando was already working in the world of wine production. The working philosophy is geared toward the passion for the work and respect for the land so that each product is excellent. Along with grape production, grain cultivation and olive groves also become essential, which are ideal for creating a thriving and stable ecosystem for the wine to have excellent quality. The chosen cultivation regime is organic so that the intrinsic value and potential of the grapes can always find expression.
The vineyard of Poderi Mattioli's Verdicchio Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore Riserva "Lauro" is located at "Mogliette." Its altitude is about 300 meters above sea level, and the exposure is west; the soil is mainly medium-textured and is composed of clay, predominantly for wines with a strong and structured character. The climate is characterized by cold winters and hot, sultry summers, an ideal climate for fully developing the aromas and flavours of the grapes. The harvest is carried out when the grapes are fully ripe; in the cellar, the bunches are affected by soft pressing with subsequent selection of the draining must. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel tanks for 15 to 20 days. It is aged in steel for 20 months.
To the eye, Poderi Mattioli's Verdicchio Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore Riserva "Lauro" is a straw yellow with brilliant reflections; on the nose, it releases hints of summer yellow flower notes with final hints of hazelnut and anise, while in the mouth it is aromatic, elegant drinkable with a good savoriness on the finish that balances the drinkability. Perfectly paired with raw fish dishes, shellfish and crustaceans as a condiment for first courses, also interesting with grilled swordfish and fresh cow's milk cheeses. Excellent for the Christmas Eve dinner table, to accompany excellent lean menus and celebrate peaceful moments with the family.
