From our sommeliers

The Fiano from Casa di Baal is a typical white wine from Campania, made using artisanal methods in the Colli di Salerno, characterized by good structure and olfactory elegance. Vinified exclusively in steel, it stands out on the nose for its aromas of chamomile, acacia flowers, honey, and white peach, and impresses on the palate with a full, dynamic, enveloping, and persistent sip.

The Fiano from Casa di Baal is a typical white wine from the Campania region, born from the meticulous selection in the vineyard of the best Fiano grapes grown in Montecorvino Rovella, in the heart of the Colli di Salerno. The Casa di Baal winery has been certified organic since 2010 and began using biodynamic practices such as horn manure starting in 2012. Here, wine is made in full respect for the biodiversity of the territory and this attention and care in the vineyard is well perceived throughout the entire line of labels from the winery. In particular, this indigenous white convinces with its cleanliness, elegance, and aromatic pleasantness.

Casa di Baal produces this wine from pure Fiano grapes, grown at about 150 meters above sea level on sandy soils with a good presence of clay. Fiano is an ancient indigenous grape variety from Campania that the Romans used to call 'Vitis Apiana' and which today is increasingly valued among the most renowned whites of the region. The one from Casa di Baal is vinified exclusively in steel tanks, where it ferments with the use of only the yeasts present on the skins and matures for at least 9 months in contact with the fine lees, concentrating the taste and flavor of the grape more intensely.

The Casa di Baal winery loves to define its Fiano as "a red dressed in white" due to its good structure on the palate and its aromatic and fine notes on the nose. In particular, this Fiano has aromas of fresh flowers, such as chamomile and acacia flowers, with sweet hints of honey, white peach, and annurca apple. The sip is fine, fresh, and mineral, filling the mouth well and enveloping it, leaving a long and persistent aromatic memory. It is best enjoyed paired with a nice platter of fresh and moderately aged cheeses, preferably with a view of the Amalfi Coast!
