The Pernand Vergelesses from Domaine Pavelot is a Pinot Noir of great elegance, coming from the ‘village’ of Pernand Vergelesses, near Beaune. The name literally means ‘I leave the glass empty’, indicating the quality of the wines from the area. On the nose, we perceive hints of rose, then black and red fruits, with slight smoky notes on the finish. On the palate, it enchants with breadth and elegance, it is very persistent and finely tannic. To be tried both with aged cheeses and feathered game

This Pernand Vergelesses from Domaine Pavelot is a great Pinot Noir from Burgundy produced in the homonymous village Pernand Vergelesses in the heart of the Cote de Beaune, between the famous Savigny-Lès-Beaune and Aloxe Corton. Although the Cote de Beaune is often associated with great white wines based on Chardonnay, Domaine Pavelot also produces red wines of depth, character, and refined elegance that compete on equal terms with the noble and renowned Premier Cru of the Cote de Nuits. The estate, led by the seventh generation and now covering an area of about 10 hectares, produces great wines according to ancient family traditions and through a free and spontaneous approach to nature. With this Pinot Noir, one can perceive all the savoir-faire of the Domaine and the commitment and dedication of a family of winemakers to Nature.

The Pinot Noir grapes come from vines over 40 years old that grow on the summits of the central hill and are rooted in stony soils with a limestone-clay matrix. The east-facing exposure, the ventilated climate, the good temperature range, and the altitude of 300 meters above sea level favor the optimal ripening of the grapes.ventilated, the good temperature range, and the altitude of 300 meters above sea level favor the optimal ripening of the grapes. In the cellar, the alcoholic fermentation is catalyzed by indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks, and the aging takes place in oak barrels for at least 10 months.

This Pernand Vergelesses red signed by Domaine Pavelot is colored with a slightly pale ruby red, typical of Pinot Noir. It has a very fine and delicate aromatic profile of berries, sweet spices, plum, and a slight smoky sensation. On the palate, it enjoys a sip of great refinement and marked personality, with good breadth and significant depth, and an intense and long persistence. The impeccable elegance of the reds from the Cote de Beaune!
