Pusser's is an English-style rum coming from the British Virgin Islands. It is probably the most representative product and the true heir of the "Navy Rum Style" of the Royal Navy. Its name is a diminutive of the figure involved in the distribution of the daily ration of rum that the British Navy guaranteed to all men of its fleet, tradition then abolished July 31, 1970, the so-called "Black Tot day".

In 1979, however, it happens that Mr. Charles Tobias, a former naval officer, asked the Ministry of the Navy to acquire the precious recipes of the Navy’s rum and related commercial rights. Soon after, he opened his distillery in Tortola, in the beautiful British Virgin Islands, starting to produce rum exactly according to seafaring traditions and buying the historical barrels from Guyana and Trinidad. Its rum are not added with any sweeteners and is produced from a mixture of spirits distilled with antique wooden stills, the same of the old rum of the British navy. Its molasses come from the precious sugar cane of the Demerara River Valley and the result is a "dark rum" rich and full, aged in ex-bourbon oak barrels.

The decision to produce rum with wooden stills, only 60% efficient and very slow compared to modern column, is surely a bold choice, but also rare in the world of rum, which is why the final product has a very special taste. Among its products, "Nelson's Blood 15 years" won the gold medal for Best Dark Rum in 2015 at the World Whiskies Awards. If you love rum and your dream was to enlist in the navy, Pusser will take on board in a fantastic journey into the sea of taste.
