Teroldego 'Grill' Eredi di Cobelli Aldo 2017
Callmewine's FavouritesThe Teroldego "Grill" takes its name from the ancient farmhouse that was dismantled for the expansion of the activity that extracted gypsum, a mineral present in large quantities in these lands. On the palate, it shows character and personality, tannicity and elegance, supported by a very fine and delicate bouquet, where notes of forest fruits intertwine with hints of spices, woodland references, and mineral touches
The “Grill” from the Eredi di Cobelli Aldo winery is a Teroldego produced with the most noble indigenous red grape variety of Trentino. It is a wine with a typically territorial taste, which combines the classic fruity notes of the grape with an elegant array of evolving aromas from aging in wood. It is a red wine with good body and structure, which pairs very well with typical dishes of the local cuisine.
The “Grill” Teroldego produced by Eredi di Cobelli Aldo comes from the hilly area of Sorni, on slopes with a cool climate, always tempered by the Ora, the breeze that rises in the afternoon from the Adige valley towards Lake Garda. The Cobelli family has been cultivating the vineyard for many generations, continuing to produce wines in the tradition, especially with the historic grape varieties of the area. The Teroldego vineyards are located at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level and are cultivated on soils rich in gypsum and limestone. The fermentation takes place in wood, with maceration on the skins for a couple of weeks. It matures for 12 months in barriques and 10-hectoliter wooden barrels and completes the aging with another 12 months in wood.
The red “Grill” is a wine with a classic style, characterized by the specific soils of the Sorni area, which give a decidedly mineral and savory imprint to the wines. In the glass, it presents an intense and dark ruby red color. On the nose, it opens with aromas of blackberry, blueberry, small dark berries, hints of underbrush, humus, and delicate spices. On the palate, it has a good structure, with a tannic texture well integrated into the body of the wine. The aromas are delicate, accompanied by a slightly almond note. The finish is persistent, fresh, and savory.
