The Cuna Cru Brendino by Cuna - Federico Staderini is a rare and intriguing expression of Pinot Noir grapes cultivated in Casentino, in a single vineyard at 500 meters above sea level. It ages for 18 months in exhausted French oak barriques and expresses an intense and velvety personality, meaty and enveloping, through aromas of wild strawberries, currants and cassis, balsamic echoes, oriental spices and an endless savory persistence.

The "Cuna Cru Brendino" by Federico Staderini is the ultimate expression of the wines produced by Federico Staderini, as well as a liquid possessing disarming complexity and depth. Federico Staderini is undoubtedly one of the most competent winemakers in Italy, and before founding his winery in 2002, he proved his worth by working with some of the most important wineries in Tuscany, such as the legendary Poggio di Sotto. Podere Santa Felicita is instead his personal project, where Federico experiments with a grape very different from Sangiovese, namely Pinot Noir, as Civettaia, a municipality in the province of Arezzo, is decidedly more suited for the maturation of this grape variety. Just 4 hectares of vineyard, cultivated following the principles of biodynamics and sealed by spontaneous fermentations in the cellar, all combined with Federico's sensitivity. What can come out of this? Obvious answer. Some of the best reds in Italy, without exaggeration.

The red "Cuna Cru Brendino" is made from pure Pinot Noir grapes, coming from a single cru that gives its name to the label due to its particular vocation. In the vineyard, as already mentioned, the principles of biodynamic Steinerian practices are followed, therefore the use of any chemical or synthetic substances is excluded, and only a little copper, sulfur, and biodynamic preparations are used. In the winery, spontaneous alcoholic fermentation continues, and aging takes place for 18 months in used oak barriques followed by several years of bottle aging.

The wine “Cuna Cru Brendino” presents itself in the glass with a bright and rather clear ruby red appearance. A wine that makes things clear from the first sniff, thanks to which there is no doubt of being in front of a class act: dog rose, currant, black pepper, underbrush are just some of the descriptors that a skilled taster might find in the wine. Juicy sip and of great class, with great harmony and integrity. Absolute champion.
