Gosset is certainly one of the pioneers of wine production in the Champagne. The history of this Maison begins back in 1584, when Jean Gosset bequeathed to his nephew Pierre a small vineyard in the commune of Ay, in the Marne Valley. Today this small village is known worldwide for the quality of its vineyards, almost all of which qualify as 100% Grand Cru. Pierre Gosset immediately sensed that his wine, strictly red and still, would be successful outside the borders of his own region, and he began an important trade that soon spread throughout France. It was not until the dawn of the 18th century that the Maison Gosset began the production of Champagne.

For no less than 14 generations, this Maison remained a family-run winery until it was sold to the Cointreau family in 1994. In 2009, that is, 425 years after its birth, the Maison moved to its new home: the Trouillard Palace, in Epernay, a splendid early 20th-century building full of around 5 kilometers of underground cellars, dug into the chalky soil, reaching up to 20 meters deep, where the cool and stable climate all year round and a constant humidity around 80 percent allow the perfect aging of some 2 million bottles of Champagne produced.

In the modernly equipped winery, wine making, under the guidance of Jean-Pierre Mereigner, takes place with the utmost care and attention to all details and respect for tradition. In the winemaking process, malolactic fermentation is carefully avoided in order to preserve the malic acid, which gives aromaticity and freshness to the wine. The whole world today knows and appreciates Gosset Champagne, symbol of quality and perfection.
