Alta Langa Pas Dosè Rizzi 2020
The Sparkling Alta Langa Pas Dosé by Rizzi is a classic method sparkling wine made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, presenting an elegant golden straw color, marked by a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it releases notes of grapefruit and mango, with details of dehydrated apricot and flowers, while on the palate it is full and clear, with excellent freshness and broad minerality.
The Pas Dosè Alta Langa Sparkling Wine represents a pleasant variant within the range of products from Rizzi, mostly focused on reds. The winery, however, deeply tied to the Langhe region of Piemonte, could not refrain from presenting this sparkling wine that belongs to a recently established DOCG at the regional level, interpreting with a new guise the typical expansion that wines born in this area have on the palate, with a lively sip supported by a nice freshness. A pleasant label, interesting for those who love Classic Methods but at the same time want to try something new.
This Alta Langa Pas Dosè Sparkling Wine is created by the Rizzi winery starting from a grape variety, Chardonnay, to which 15% of Pinot Nero is added. These two international varieties are cultivated using the guyot system at an altitude above sea level ranging from 270 to 430 meters. We find ourselves within a terroir characterized by a base of clayey and calcareous marls. After soft pressing, the must ferments at a controlled temperature in steel, to then referment in the bottle following the production standards of the Classic Method. The sparkling wine remains to mature on the lees in the bottle for 48 months, before being disgorged and bottled, without any addition of sugary dosage.
The Alta Langa Spumante Pas Dosè Rizzi reveals itself to the eye with a concentrated golden yellow color, crossed by a fine bubble with excellent persistence. The bouquet on the nose is broad, built on notes of citrus and fruit that then shift towards more floral nuances. On the palate, it is full-bodied, intense thanks to a pleasant roundness, highlighting good freshness and minerality. A label that fits perfectly for the most elegant aperitif, perhaps in the company of guests.
