Tranampelo's Cyclades 'Odd Blend' is an intriguing Greek island white wine from Naxos. It's called 'odd' because it is made using an ancient method, the co-fermentation of red and white grapes, without maceration, all together. This is a wine of great aromatic complexity: citrus, green hints of resin and herbs, tropical and yellow fruit... An aromatic variety that meets a vibrant sip of great salinity. In the mouth it has a pleasant roughness and freshness, perfect for balancing with grilled fish and intense cheeses

The Greek winery Tranampelo introduces the Cyclades ‘Odd Blend’, a label with a unique and refined dimension, resulting from a peculiar blend of white and red grapes vinified in white. This bottle aims to enhance the ancient practice of planting black and white grape varieties together in the same vineyard, harvesting and vinifying all the grapes from the vineyard together. The result is a “strange assembly”, a translation of the name ‘Odd Blend’, reinterpreted in a modern way with current oenological knowledge.

The Cyclades ‘Odd Blend’ by Tranampelo consists of a blend of the indigenous white grape varieties Potamisi, Aidani, and Monemvasia, combined with the red grapes Fokiano and Mandilaria, all coming from the same single vineyard located near the village of Glinado, on the western side of the island of Naxos. The vines are approximately 15 years old and are cultivated following the principles of organic farming on soils made up of sand and clay, also characterized by an abundant presence of decomposed granite. The The harvest is done by hand in a single pass for all varieties, which are then vinified in white through soft pressing and co-fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The fermentation process is entrusted to indigenous yeasts only and takes place at controlled temperature, followed by aging of about 8 months on the fine lees, during which occasional batonnage is performed.

The Greek white wine ‘Odd Blend’ Tranampelo Cyclades has an intense straw yellow color with golden and coppery reflections. The aromas range from notes of peach, bergamot, melon, pineapple, chamomile, and lemon zest to marine and black tea memories. Soft and full-bodied sip, characterized by a slightly rough sapidity and lively freshness, as well as a balanced finish.
