The Ghemme Riserva by Torraccia di Piantavigna is a red wine of great class and body that faithfully tells the splendid territory of Northern Piedmont. The sip is very expressive, endowed with length, structure and elegance, with velvety tannins and a good freshness, accompanied by evolved notes of violets, ripe red fruit, sweet spices and licorice

The Ghemme Riserva Magnum by Torraccia del Piantavigna originates in Ghemme in Alto Piemonte at the foot of Monte Rosa. The history of the winery dates back to the 1950s when Pierino Piantavigna purchased a small plot of land and named the hill in front of it, with exceptional exposure, "Torraccia", just north of the Castle of Cavenago. Today, the activity is managed by Pierino's heirs who continue their grandfather's work, dedicating themselves to respect for the territory, the environment, and the community; some shares were purchased by the Ponti family, a leader in Italy for the production of vinegars and vegetables in oil, an event that has created good collaboration between the two families.

The grapes for the Riserva Magnum Ghemme by Torraccia del Piantavigna are grown on alluvial, acidic, and clayey soils, affected by drainage, as they are located on hilly slopes; thinning is preferred to leave only one bunch per vine, to ensure a yield and quality superior to the wine. The climate is characterized by significant temperature excursions, thanks to the currents coming from the Alps that ensure excellent ripening for the grapes. The harvest is manual to preserve the integrity of the skin; it is followed by maceration on the skins with malolactic fermentation. It ages for 12 months in French oak barriques and 6 months in bottle.

The Ghemme Riserva Magnum by Torraccia del Piantavigna presents itself in a ruby red glass with orange reflections; on the nose, there are fine and delicate notes of violet. On the palate, it reveals itself harmonious with an important, yet pleasant tannin that invites drinking. It pairs perfectly with red meats, braised dishes, and game; it is also interesting with aged cheeses for an unusual end to a meal. A product to be enjoyed during formal occasions or romantic winter evenings in front of a crackling fireplace, to savor in the glass the working philosophy of a family that transforms the grapes with passion and respect.
