It was born from the desire to enhance the most famous native red grape variety of the area, offering a prestigious version of it. The quality and the rigorous selection of the grapes, combined with particularly careful winemaking and aging processes, allow for an appreciation of the Montepulciano in an elegant, complex, and evolved guise. It is an important, concentrated, and powerful red, suitable for pairing with roasts, game, or grilled meat.
"Verso Sera" is a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo made by an important winery that has represented the excellence of the Marche and Abruzzo lands for years. Velenosi can count on an estate of over 150 hectares, divided into various properties, all located in highly suitable areas. The grapes used to create this version of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo come from the best vineyards cultivated in the municipality of Controguerra, at about 260 meters above sea level.The mild and breezy climate and the medium-textured soils, rich in skeleton, are perfect for red grape varieties. At the end of the manual harvest, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled cement tanks, with a skin maceration period of four weeks. The wine is aged for 10 months in large 30-hectoliter oak barrels and rests for a few months in the bottle before being marketed.
The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo "Verso Sera" by Velenosi is a velvety red, ranking among the best interpretations of the great Abruzzese grape variety. The result of the extensive experience of one of the most renowned wineries in the region, it presents itself in the glass with a dark red color, almost impenetrable. On the nose, it is intense and rich, with aromas of cherry, ripe plum, dark-skinned red fruit, sensations of humus, soft spices, vanilla, blonde tobacco, and leather. On the palate, it is structured, with a significant tannic texture, dressed in a rich and dense fruit and complex, persistent aromas. The finish is balanced and long, with a returnon spicy notes.
