The Moscato Passito “La Bella Estate” from the winery Vita Colte is a sweet aromatic and delicate wine that comes from renowned vineyards in the typical Moscato area, located mainly in the municipality of Canelli, in the province of Asti, in Piemonte. This label is made from pure Moscato Bianco grapes from vines, nestled on gentle hills, managed with the necessary care to obtain healthy bunches, a fundamental and necessary condition to prolong the ripening process of the grapes and achieve a high sugar and aromatic concentration typical of the varietal. The winery is a cooperative reality, born in the 1980s under the name ‘Terre da Vino’, consisting of about 180 producers, who make part of their annual harvest available to carry out a project aimed at positioning itself as a virtuous model of local viticulture.
“La Bella Estate” Moscato Passito is produced with carefully selected grapes, harvested exclusively by hand generally towards the end of August, the beginning of September. The bunches are then dried for about 40 days in boxes inside a temperature-controlled room. Subsequently, the grapes are pressed, after which the must is fermented in stainless steel containers for about 10 days at a controlled temperature of around 18-20 °C. At the end of fermentation, the wine remains in aging on its own yeasts, in stainless steel tanks, for about 12 months, before being filtered, stabilized, and bottled.
The Moscato “La Bella Estate” Passito from Vite Colte presents itself with an intense golden yellow color. On the nose, aromas of dehydrated yellow fruit, candied fruit, and tropical fruit appear, including apricot, mango, and pineapple, floral and citrus notes of grapefruit, spicy hints of saffron, memories of honey, and slight balsamic hints, of wild herbs and moss. On the palate, it is enveloping, intense, and pleasant, characterized by a nice freshness and a long and persistent sapidity.
