Riesling Laimburg 2022
Callmewine's FavouritesThe Riesling from Laimburg is a clear, fresh, and elegant wine: a brilliant expression of Alto Adige, vinified in steel and aged in large barrels. Compactness, character, freshness, and aromatic cleanliness enhance a fruity and floral aromatic profile, with notes of peach and apricot highlighted.
The Riesling is part of the range of Wines from the estate of the Alto Adige winery Laimburg. A collection of labels with a clear varietal profile, which tend to enhance especially the fragrance of fruity aromas and the typical mineral freshness of the mountains. The Riesling is no exception, perfectly reflecting this interpretative style, with delicate floral notes and fragrant fruity aromas, making it very pleasant and immediate to drink. Young and simple, it is a perfect white to bring to the table to accompany fish or shellfish dishes.
The Riesling wine is produced within the Laimburg Experimentation Center, founded in 1975 near Bolzano. In addition to focusing on research and consulting, the Center manages a winery that leverages the scientific knowledge of the institute and produces quality wines inspired by a typically territorial dimension. There are as many as 12 Laimburg wineries present in Alto Adige, allowing for the direct application in the vineyard and winery of cutting-edge solutions and experiments to continually improve the quality of the wines.
the level of the wines. This is a project that combines innovation with respect for the oldest traditions of the territory and that always operates in perfect harmony with the environmental context. The goal is to create wines capable of representing the character of the Alto Adige terroir in a frank and direct manner. The Riesling from the Alto Adige winery Laimburg comes from grapes grown in Montefranco, near Merano, and in Seeburg, near Bressanone, at an average altitude of about 500 meters above sea level. After the gentle pressing of the grapes, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine matures for 8 months on the lees, half in steel and half in wood. The color is golden yellow with bright greenish reflections. On the nose, it offers aromas of white flowers, citrus, fragrant fruit, white peach, and apricot. The taste is tense, vertical and juicy. The finish is long, savory, and vibrantly fresh.
