The Soave Classico 'Montefoscarino' Santa Sofia is a fresh and easy-drinking white wine, perfect for pairing with vegetarian dishes or first courses based on fish and shellfish. In the heart of the Veronese hills, among the sun-kissed rows of vines and the scent of wildflowers, lies the Soave Classico 'Montefoscarino' Santa Sofia. This white wine, fresh and enveloping, yet at the same time fine and delicate, is a tribute to the beauty and richness of the Veronese territory. Created by the ancient winery Santa Sofia, guardian of a tradition that has its roots back in 1811, the 'Montefoscarino' is an elegant expression of Valpolicella Classica. The label evokes the magical atmosphere of the hills of Soave and Monteforte d'Alpone, where the grapes that will give life to this label ripen.
The hills of this territory, with their limestone-dolomitic soil enriched by volcanic basalts, constitute the ideal place for the cultivation of Garganega grapes, the undisputed protagonists of the Soave Classico 'Montefoscarino'. Here, the Santa Sofia winery, nestled in the 16th-century villa designed by Andrea Palladio, carries on a winemaking art that blends tradition and innovation. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, preserving the freshness and the aroma of the grapes. After a brief aging in steel and about 3 months in bottle, the wine is ready to reveal all its complexity and elegance on the palate.
The Soave Classico 'Montefoscarino' presents itself in the glass with a pale straw color, illuminated by greenish-silver reflections; on the nose, a fragrant and refined bouquet immediately emerges, with notes of white peach, orange peel, limoncella, and acacia, accompanied by mineral whispers and wet stone that evoke the very essence of the territory. On the palate, the wine reveals itself to be subtle and elegant, with a well-balanced acidic freshness, a measured alcoholic warmth, and a pronounced mineral sapidity. The sip is juicy and enveloping, with a long and clean finish that enhances the notes already perceived on the nose. When young, the 'Montefoscarino' pairs beautifully with light fish-based dishes, while with moderate aging it becomes the ideal companion for more structured dishes and slightly aged goat cheeses. With the Soave Classico 'Montefoscarino', every sip is a journey through colors, the authentic scents and flavors of the Veronese lands, an experience that leaves an indelible mark on the taste memory.
