The Veltliner Strasser Weinberge from the Arndorfer winery is a white wine fresh, subtle, and delicate produced from the three most important crus of the Kamptal wine district: Strasser Gaisberg, Wechselberg, and Hasel. This label is made from pure Gruner Veltliner grapes, the most widely cultivated white grape variety in Austria, sourced from old vines over 50 years old located on steep hills characterized by soils rich in sand, clay, and silt. The winery, located in the village of Strass in Austria, is a family-run business managed by Martin Arndorfer and his wife Anna, producing about 45,000 bottles of wine annually that reflect a vision of passion, research, and exaltation of the "terroir".
The Strasser Weinberge Gruner Veltliner is produced with carefully selected and hand-harvested grapes generally towards the second half of September. The clusters are brought to the winery for destemming and gentle pressing, after which they undergo alcoholic fermentation, which occurs spontaneouslyusing exclusively indigenous yeasts, in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Subsequently, the wine remains in aging for about 20% in stainless steel containers and for the remaining part in large oak barrels for a period of at least 6 months before being bottled for commercial release.
The Vetliner Strasser Weinberge by Arndorfer presents itself with a bright straw yellow color. On the nose, there are intense fruity aromas of white fruit, tropical fruit, and citrus, floral notes of yellow flowers and aromatic herbs, including sage, spicy hints of white pepper, finishing with a clear mineral note reminiscent of crushed rock. On the palate, it is tense, vertical, pure, and harmonious, characterized by a beautiful mineral texture and vibrant acidity that leaves the palate very clean.
