From our sommeliers

Verdello by La Palazzola is a territorial and surprising white wine, born from a rare grape type form Umbria, vinified in barriques and aged for 60 days in terracotta jars. On the nose it expresses itself with many aromatic herbs, scents of ripe fruits, honey and oxidative hints. The taste is smooth, warm, mineral and with a good persistence.

The Verdello from the La Palazzola winery is a white wine with a typically territorial profile, obtained from the vinification of the indigenous Umbrian white grape Verdello or Verdetto d’Aguzzo. It is a very personal and artisanal interpretation, made with a refinement in terracotta amphora. A choice that helps preserve the varietal characteristics of the grape and gives a mature profile, with light oxidative sensations.

The Verdello of La Palazzola is a wine that originates a few kilometers south of the city of Terni. The estate is located in the green heart of Umbria, in a wonderful hilly area. The cool and always breezy climate, thanks to the constant southeast winds, is perfect for grape cultivation, which has found an ideal habitat in these lands. The vineyards are cultivated with spurred cordon and bush training on soils composed of clay rich in skeleton. The company's philosophy is based on careful work in the vineyard, which translates into genuine and straightforward glasses, with great varietal typicity. The Verdello is cultivated at an altitude of about 300 meters above sea level. Fermentation takes place in barriques using only indigenous yeasts. Before being bottled, the wine matures for a period of 60 days in terracotta amphorae of 3.5 hectoliters.

The Verdello from the Umbrian winery La Palazzola is a white wine rich in personality and character. A label dedicated to those who love artisanal drinking, far from the international standard taste. The use of a little-known indigenous grape and a winemaking process inspired by the most ancient historical customs contributes to creating the charm of this white. The color is golden yellow, with bright reflections. On the nose, it is rich and expressive, with aromas of ripe yellow fruit, hints of hay, herbal notes, nuances of honey, and slight oxidative sensations. The taste is broad and intense, with a juicy fruit center and a savory and harmonious finish.
