Carlo Alberto Negri's Amarone della Valpolicella is an intense, deep and structured red wine. It comes from a single south-west facing hillside plot with low yields, cultivated with minimal intervention by a young and talented winemaker. Classic and measured in style, it focuses on freshness and balance rather than power. The nose reveals ripe red fruit and jam, subtle hints of spice and cocoa. On the palate, it is warm and tannic but elegant. It pairs well with red meats and mature cheeses such as braised beef
