Vignammare is a white wine made from Grillo grapes harvested from red soils washed by the sea, vinified and aged in steel. The aromatic profile is unconventional and very marine: mineral scents, of seaweed and shells, and a fresh and salty taste, reminiscent of seawater.

The Biancammare by Barraco is a wine that, even from its name, evokes the characteristics that, merging, create its personality. A wine faithful to its place of origin. A postcard in liquid form ready to imprint itself in one’s self. Vine and sea united in a single sip that warms and brings joy. Welcome to Sicily!

The vineyards of Barraco are all to be discovered: one must make their way, move the branches, respect the spaces. Minimal human intervention in an uncontaminated environment. It is simply nature trying to protect and adapt to the environment. In fact, the plants left to their own devices try to safeguard their bunches from a very hot and ventilated environment, a weave that can be dangerous at times as it can burn the leaves of the vines. The Grillo vineyard is trained in guyot and low trellis on red soils located 30 meters from the sea, in the Marsala area, rich in limestone stones. The harvest takes place slightly early, while the spontaneous fermentation with only indigenous yeasts occurs in steel and a maceration of 48 hours is planned.on the skins. No sulfur dioxide is added and the wine always rests in steel for 6 months.

The Biancammare appears to the eye as an intense straw yellow. On the nose, the marine memories are overwhelming. Iodine and seaweed scents, combined with almost saline notes, crash against a mineral background on which ripe white-fleshed fruit is ready to be harvested. On the palate, it is very sleek, with a savory freshness and finishes with briny sensations. Get closer and you will feel the sea, just like in a shell.
