Tormaresca’s ‘Locone’ Cabernet Sauvignon is a red wine from Puglia, produced in the charming Castel del Monte appellation. It reflects the geography of the Murge region and pays homage to the area’s artificial lake, with which it shares its name. On the nose, it offers fruity notes of raspberry and wild berries, enhanced by hints of Mediterranean scrub leading to a minty finish. On the palate, it is smooth and enveloping, with elegant tannins and good length. Excellent with traditional capocollo pork, and well worth trying with Apulian bombette sausages

The ‘Locone’ Tenuta Bocca di Lupo Tormaresca - Antinori is a pure Cabernet Sauvignon produced in the Castel del Monte area, distinguished by a refined international style. Owned by the Marchesi Antinori, Tenuta Bocca di Lupo is located in Minervino Murge, in Puglia, in a karstic land ideal for high-quality viticulture. The estate spans 130 hectares of vineyards and is part of Tormaresca, an ambitious winemaking project undertaken in 1998 in Puglian territory by the Antinori family. The name ‘Locone’ comes from the eponymous artificial lake not far from the winery, which over the years has become an important hydrological basin rich in aquatic flora and fauna.

The Tormaresca - Antinori Tenuta Bocca di Lupo ‘Locone’ is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, grown on poor, calcareous soils. The vines, cultivated according to organic farming principles, benefit from an altitude between 250 and 300 meters above sea level, a factor that promotes significant temperature fluctuations. In the winery, the grapes are first destemmed and then gently pressed, with the must transferred into dedicated fermentation vats for alcoholic fermentation in contact with the skins at a controlled temperature of 26–28°C. Once alcoholic fermentation is complete, the wine is racked into French oak barriques, where malolactic fermentation also takes place and the wine is left to age.

The ‘Locone’ Tormaresca - Antinori Tenuta Bocca di Lupo displays an intense ruby-red color. The glass reveals pleasant notes of raspberry and other forest fruits, enhanced by fresh hints of aromatic herbs such as rosemary and mint, all complemented by nuances of fine wood derived from oak aging. On the palate, it is soft and flavorful, at times graceful, with enveloping tannins that contribute to excellent taste persistence.
