Piccini's Chianti Riserva 'Collezione Oro' combines local tradition, using Sangiovese grapes, with international drive, using a small balance of Cabernet. This elegant wine matures partly in old and partly in new barrels, to combine smoothness and intensity in the same wine. In addition to intriguing hints of red fruits, hints of toast and vanilla are evident on the nose, delicate, identifying the passage in wood. On the palate it is generous, velvety, with soft tannins supporting a rich structure

Chianti Riserva 'Collezione Oro' is atasty interpretation of the Chianti terroir, characterised by excellent value for money. For a long time, the nerve centre of the Piccini estate's production was the historic headquarters in Castellina in Chianti, which in 2020 was joined by a new modern winery located near Casole d'Elsa, west of the city of Siena. This important investment is in line with the innovative vision of the Piccini family, always careful to invest in both agronomy and oenology, expanding the property, acquiring new estates and modernising equipment, environments and machinery, always with the aim of meeting the expectations of the end consumer.
Chianti Piccini 'Collezione Oro' Riserva is the result of a combination of a solid base of Sangiovese and a small percentage of 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, varieties grown within the Chianti area. After the harvest, the grapes of the two varieties are vinified separately in stainless steel tanks, containers in which the alcoholic fermentation takes place with maceration on the skins. Once the fermentation process is complete, the masses are decanted into wooden barrels of various capacities, about one third of which are oak barriques, containers in which the wine remains to age for 9 months until final bottling.
Piccini's 'Collezione Oro' Chianti Riserva is an intense ruby red colour with garnet highlights. The aromatic spectrum offers hints of red currants and dark fruits such as blackberry, followed by notes of red flowers and nuances of sweet spices reminiscent of vanilla. The structure and body of the sip are well supported by the pleasant freshness, defining the soft and flowing development enhanced by velvety tannins. On the finish of good elegance, the fruity and spicy perceptions previously perceived on the nose return.
