The "Ciuri" by Terrazze dell'Etna is a fresh, mineral and expressive white wine, produced from the white vinfication of red and white grapes in steel tanks. Its perfumes are fresh and elegant, fruity and herbaceous, its taste is rich and juicy, with pleasant mineral notes

Il Ciuri di Terrazze dell’Etna is born in Randazzo, in the province of Catania, on our Sicilian Island. This wine reality was founded by Nino Bevilacqua in 2008, purchasing small plots of land in the Bocca d’Orzo area. This project came to life also thanks to the consultancy of Riccardo Cottarella, who expertly guided Nino's work step by step, leading him to achieve the production of quality wines. The work philosophy is oriented towards the respect for the natural phases of growth and development of the plants and the raw material, enhancing the qualities of the territory at the foot of Etna.

The pure Nerello Mascalese grapes of Il Ciuri di Terrazze dell’Etna come from vineyards located on the north-western slopes of Etna. Their altitude is between 700 and 950 meters above sea level and the plants have an average age between 10 and 15 years. The soil is of volcanic origin with a skeletal presence; it appears dark in color because it is born from the disintegration of lava flows. Viticulture can be defined as heroic, since the vineyards are located on ancient rural terraces recovered through a naturalistic architecture intervention, a condition that makes it difficult to intervene between rows with machinery or animals. The harvest takes place in the second half of September; the red grapes are vinified in white thanks to the immediate separation of the must from the skins through soft pressing; it ages in steel for 8 months on the fine lees and in the bottle for 6 months.

To the eye, the Ciuri di Terrazze dell’Etna appears a light straw yellow with brilliant and clear reflections. The nose detects aromas of ripe tropical fruit and notes of ripe white-fleshed fruit with final hints of rosemary; on the palate, there is a saltiness and freshness combined with a pronounced minerality due to the originating soil, which excellently closes the sip. It pairs perfectly with dishes based on first courses seasoned with shellfish and mollusks and steamed fish; interesting with fresh cheeses made from cow and sheep milk from the Sicilian tradition. Excellent for the festive family table to enjoy a handcrafted wine, produced with awareness and attention to detail.
