The Colle Duga winery is a small producer located in Zegla, within the municipality of Cormòns, in the Friuli region of Italy and just a stone's throw from Slovenia, where every centimetre of land is filled with history, values and memory. Here Damian Princic represents the latest generation of a family that, starting with his grandfather Giuseppe, has dedicated itself to viticulture by cultivating the Colle Duga, which is a hill with a great potential for producing quality wines, with love and passion. Damian is helped in the daily operations by his wife Monica and his children Karin and Patrick, who are each involved in different roles, from commercial to administrative, as well as working in the vineyard and in the cellar. Damian's goal for each harvest is to obtain the best from each vintage using the most suitable cultural techniques. This is undoubtedly an ambitious objective, although year after year it continues to receive recognition and awards from the main Italian wine guides, proving that the right path has been taken.

The vineyards of the Colle Duga winery extend over little more than 10 hectares and are divided between four different estates, all within the Collio DOC area. It is a terroir of great value, dominated by the "ponca", which is a group of sandstone marls of Eocene origin brought to the surface by the rising waters of the Adriatic Sea, and ideally suited to quality cultivation. In addition to the composition of the subsoil, the climate is also fundamental, and benefits both from the breezes that come in from the Adriatic Sea and the natural shelter provided by the Alpine circle, which protects the vineyards from the coldest currents. Between the rows of vines, typical local varieties are grown, from Pinot Grigio to Friulano, from Chardonnay to Sauvignon, and from Malvasia to the only red grape present, Merlot. The treatments in the vineyard are reduced to a minimum, with the aim of always respecting the varietal characteristics of each vine, also during the cellar operations, from the vinification to the ageing.

The Colle Duga winery produces six different wines, each with its own distinctive style and personality, which faithfully reflect the thousands of tones that can be found in the Collio area of Friuli. Among the bottles produced, five of these are white wines, providing a real driving force for the company's entire production. The Collio Bianco wine, a multi-award-winning blend which offers an interesting quality-price ratio, is particularly outstanding.
