The Austero by Pietro Zardini is an intense and structured red wine born from slightly dried Corvina grapes, aged for about 2 years in oak barrels. It has scents of dried fruits and fruits in alcohol, sweet spices and tobacco. On the palate it is round, velvety, snooth and concentrated

The Corvina “Austero” by Pietro Zardini is a Veneto red wine that presents an interesting body structure, which impresses with its density. The nose is also layered, offering a progression of intense and deep notes, where the fruit gradually gives way to tertiary sensations. A label that, due to its intrinsic personality, stemming from the choice to vinify the grapes after a period of drying, requires “hearty” recipes at the table, where red meat and game are undoubtedly fitting ingredients.

“Austero” by Pietro Zardini is a red wine made from pure Corvina grapes, grown in predominantly red and brown soils that rest on debris, limestone marls, and basalts. In the vineyard, at the time of harvest, which is done late, a very careful selection of the bunches is carried out, which, once harvested, are dried for about 1 month. The must ferments in steel containers, macerating in contact with the skins for a total of 3-4 weeks. The wine is then transferred to oak barrels, where it remains to mature slowly for two years, at the end of which it is ready to be bottled and put on the market.

This Corvina “Austero” branded by Pietro Zardini presents itself to the eye with a deep ruby red color, crossed by streaks that tend more towards garnet in appearance. Concentrated and broad on the nose, characterized by touches of fruit presented with various references (jam, preserved, confiture) and by spicy hints that, in the finish, turn towards tobacco. Wide and soft on the palate, with a round and tactile sip that unfolds with linearity. A label of good longevity, which can also be uncorked in a few years, finding in the glass a Veneto red of personality!
