The Camossi Franciacorta Saten is a Metodo Classico Blanc de Blancs made with pure Chardonnay, resting for 24 months on the lees. The aging of some of the base wines in wood and the use of the SoloUva method give the wine an expressive fullness and creaminess that make it particularly pleasant and intense, with aromas of citrus peel, ripe yellow fruit, and spicy nuances. The sip is rich and full, with fruity softness and a finish of lively mineral freshness.
The Camossi Franciacorta Saten is produced with Chardonnay grapes, sourced from the estate's plots located in Erbusco, on medium-textured soils made up of clay, silt, and sand, and in Fantecolo on soils characterized mainly by the presence of clay and limestone. The vineyards are cultivated on the typical gentle hills of Franciacorta, with a planting density of 6500 vines per hectare and a yield that does not exceed 90 quintals/ha. The grapes from individual vineyards are vinified separately, and after harvest, the bunches are softly pressed, and the must is sent for fermentation in steel. The vins clairs age for 6 months on the fine lees, part in steel and part in old barriques of third and fourth passage. After the creation of the cuvée, we proceed to tiraggio according to the SoloUva method using only the must, without the addition of sugar. The wine undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle, with a stay on the lees of 24 months before disgorgement.
The Metodo Classico Saten by Camossi stands out for its mature expressive richness, juicy fruit, elegance, and the floral refinement typical of Chardonnay. The slightly lower pressure of the Saten makes it particularly delicate and suitable for tasting with appetizers or fish starters. In the glass, it has a rather intense straw yellow color, with fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it expresses aromas of orange blossom and white flowers, citrus peel, ripe yellow fruit, vanilla, and delicate spices. The attack on the palate is creamy and harmonious, with pleasantly ripe and intense fruit, crossed by a clear fresh and savory vein.
