Friulano di Borgo Conventi is a Friulian wine, which originates in the area of Farra d'Isonzo, in the province of Gorizia. The winery's activity began in 1975 and the work philosophy is oriented towards the production of wines of excellent quality, respectful of nature and tradition. This working method was then inherited by the Folonari family, who in 2001 decided to take over this activity, in order to be able to continue this production into the future, making it sustainable and viable.
Borgo Conventi's Friulano grapes come from vineyards with a south/south-east and west exposure, and the soil where they take root is mainly composed of marly stone and sandstone with important stratifications for wines with a structured character; a small presence of clay, on the other hand, gives elegance. As far as the climate is concerned, winter temperatures are mild, with copious rainfall in spring and hot, sultry summers. The plants have an average age of between 15 and 35 years. In the cellar there is a soft pressing of the grapes and alcoholic fermentation in steel for about 10 days. It matures on the fine lees throughout the winter.
To the eye, the Friulano di Borgo Conventi is an intense straw yellow with intense reflections. The nose reveals a good complexity of aromas ranging from yellow-fleshed fruit to notes of summer meadow flowers; in the mouth it is fresh, harmonious and well-balanced with a remarkable final persistence that invites drinking. In pairing it is excellent with traditional Friulian mixed cold cuts, shellfish and raw fish tartare; also interesting with seasonal vegetable dishes and white meat. Ideal for aperitifs with lifelong friends by the sea during pleasant summer evenings.
