The Vidiano ‘Pharos’ by Nomades is a low-intervention wine that originates in Peza, in the heart of Crete, a creature of a project that draws its trajectory between Greece and Campania. Vinified with indigenous yeasts and aged on fine lees between steel and acacia barriques, it offers a wide aroma of peach and apricot, enriched by floral notes, honey, and light hints of brioche. On the palate, it is fresh, balanced, and persistent, with a pleasant mineral vein. An authentic and original expression of the Greek Mediterranean.

The Vidiano ‘Pharos’ by Nomades is a wine from Crete, one of the oldest wine-producing regions in Europe. In this setting, in the Peza area, a wine is born whose name evokes the protective eye, the famous mati, depicted on the label, a Mediterranean symbol of good fortune. It is produced with grapes from the 4 districts recognized by the regulations: Lasithi, Heraklion, Rethymnon, and Chania, with vineyards predominantly facing north, where the breezes of the Aegean and the Cretan Sea alternate with the warm winds coming from the Libyan Sea.

The Nomades ‘Pharos’ is based on the Vidiano grape, a white variety that grows at 400 meters above sea level on clay-limestone soils, trained to a spurred cordon with a limited yield of about 8 tons per hectare. The harvest, entirely manual, takes place in the first week of September. In the winery, the grapes are pressed without clarification of the must and left to macerate on the skins for 48 hours; the fermentation, carried out spontaneously with indigenous yeasts at 16°C, continues partly in steel and partly in neutral acacia barriques. It is followed by a maturation of 12 months on the fine lees, with regular bâtonnage.regular, before bottling with only a light filtration.

The ‘Pharos’ Vidiano Nomades presents itself with a bright straw yellow color, enriched with golden reflections. On the nose, it opens with notes of ripe peach and apricot, followed by pear and citrus, floral hints, and light nuances of honey and almond, enhanced by touches of brioche and spice. On the palate, it is lively and well-balanced, with a freshness that supports the entire sip, a soft texture, and a long, mineral finish that still recalls the ripe fruit. An ideal label with grilled fish or a seafood risotto, capable of telling in every sip the sunny and ancient character of Crete.
