Elegant chromatic tones, fine aromas of fruit and flowers and a pleasant, attractive and drinkable sip: all this represents the Italian peninsula's Rosé wines, from the southern sea to the Alps, from Puglia to Lake Garda. A selection of the most important production sites to get to know the soul of a refined and trendy wine!
The Callmewine team has created the Wine Box Rosati Italiani to showcase the excellent vocation of the Belpaese towards rosé wines, unfortunately too long overshadowed by an industrial production focused more on quantity than quality. Italy ranks as the third country in the world for the production of rosé wines, after France and Spain, with Veneto emerging as the leader among the regions, followed by Emilia-Romagna, Puglia, Abruzzo, and Lombardia. Today, Italian rosé wines are finally achieving great success, also thanks to producers who are careful to offer expressions of a certain character, without giving up the smoothness and liveliness that has always characterized the type.
With the Wine Box Rosati Italiani, the sommeliers of Callmewine propose a selection of carefully chosen rosé wines from across the Italian territory, from the imposing Alps to the sunny Sicily, passing through the regions of the Apennines. To produce a rosé wine, one starts from one or more black grape varieties, which after the harvest are subjected to a brief skin maceration, just enough to extract the desired amount of coloring pigments. Among the most important Italian denominations reserved for rosé wines are Bardolino Chiaretto, Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo, and Etna Rosato, although there are actually numerous valid expressions. The characteristics of the wine can then vary significantly, from the most refreshing and immediate rosés, perfect for warm summer days, to fuller and more expressive ones, sometimes more similar to a light red than to a true rosé wine.
Due to the surprising versatility that characterizes the type, the labels present in the Wine Box Rosati Italiani can be served on multiple occasions and paired with a wide range of dishes.
